what we are about
Diversity
We’re really excited to hear from people who don’t fit the mould - be that geographical or socio-economic background, skin colour, neurodiversity and even professional history. Spent half your life as a landscape gardener and then became a game dev? That’s something we're interested to hear about.
Just over half the team are white guys, although we’re dedicated to (and active in) changing that. We’ve been pushing to work with diverse people wherever and however we can, be it in as overtly political a manner as we did with Fascism Fighters 4000, and even through the internships we run.
More about Spilt Milk Studios
We’re a member of the Tentacle Zone, a shared workspace for game developers in central London, so if and when the need arises we have office space - but even so we work with people all around the world all the time, and with a mostly remote team anyway. We’re flexible! We run our work through discord, and are very community-focused. We have been running internships and placements for the past 3 years, and are heavily involved in multiple initiatives that promote diversity and mentoring in the industry. We’re passionate, mature, responsible, motivated and supportive.
More about the project(s)
We’re building a fantasy IP, across multiple games. We’re tremendously excited about the first one - TRASH GOBLIN - as the demo has been getting excellent feedback from players and publishers alike, and we're looking to self-publish in 2024! We’ve got a 5 game (10 year) plan and our ambition grows with each project we launch - we aim for this to be a globally recognised IP that spans more than just games, and is certainly not limited to just one genre. Getting to influence and steer something this ambitious is not a chance that comes around very often and we hope that you’re excited by this too.
Besides all that we regularly and fairly constantly work with student teams on industry briefs as part of their degrees, which you’d also be welcome to participate in. And of course now and then we do work for hire for a range of exciting clients on some amazing projects, which are all potential avenues for your expertise as well.
